Bountiful Baskets & Reality

Our best friends Matt and Sarah live in Montana and they are the ones who told us about this great program called Bountiful Baskets. It's a food co-op that mostly consists of fruit and veggies but later can expand to more diverse items such as whole grain bread and granola. When Sarah told us about how cool this co-op was, we immediately were like, we're in! But there was a catch. Bountiful Baskets wasn't set up in Iowa yet. We were bummed until we realized...we could set up our own site! Meanwhile, at the same time, in our same city, another couple had been thinking the same thing. Through the organizers of BB we found each other, did our training, and set up a site in Des Moines! It has been such a fun adventure. There has been a tremendous amount of satisfaction from seeing something come together in the community like this. We had been thinking of the blog and our goals for it...two of which were to show people what we do, what we like, who we are, and the other was to keep it real.
Every other Saturday we get up at 4:45am to set up and distribute alongside other volunteers in the community. So here you are my friends. This is us 'keeping it real'. No make up, hair undone, and two exhausted but happy people!
