A couple weekends ago we were really feeling like we needed to unplug and get away. Get away from phones and busy life. Just for one day. It has been quite warm here this summer so it was a surprise when we got up to the lake and it was only 57 degrees! It felt wonderful and I won't be able to say it enough- we had a lovely time. The trail was perfect. The lake was gorgeous. We saw wildlife and Mia got dirty and the picnic went great! Two is a hard age in the fact that her moods swing quickly and that sometimes she's hard to communicate with when she's throwing a tantrum. But honestly? Besides those things, which actually accounts for very little of our time together, two is the perfect age. I LOVE it. She is inquisitive and creative and thoughtful and sooooo funny. She gives loves and is courageous and doesn't know to be afraid of spiders, so she simply isn't! Lately she'll suddenly gasp and go "shhh!!!" And we crouch down and whisper, "what is it, Mia?" And she'll glance from side to side all sneaky like then whisper back, "bear. It's a bear, Mommy!" Hahaha. She does this in the house....in the garage...at school...the store...lol. It's adorable. So running around the lake checking out all the cool pine cones, rocks, sticks, beetles, birds, grass....it was awesome for her and for us to get to watch her explore. We already can't wait to go back!
Yes, her hair actually is this gold color. It's absolutely stunning!
In the bird blind
