3rd Annual Amelia Day! (August 2)

It's hard to believe another year has come and gone! We are more grateful than ever to have this little angel in our lives! Amelia Day this year fell on a Sunday which was so fitting. We were on our last day at our family reunion and went to the Portland Temple to take some pictures. The temple is a special place to us as this is where we were sealed together as a family. Legally, we became a family at the court house in Kansas, but spiritually, and to us most importantly, we became a family at the temple in Oregon. It was wonderful to be there as an entire family and getting to enjoy the reunion then end on such a great note.

Amelia is just a spunky as ever and enjoyed playing with her cousins- she has five now on the DeKorte side! Although the temple was closed for cleaning, we were still able to get pretty close and it has such a peace for me. Brad's sister and brother in law were married there almost seven years ago as well as my cousin and her husband. When we go, it feels familiar and safe and wonderful. I love the temple and every night I sing songs about it to Amelia as she falls asleep. Being a family...finding our precious Mia...has been the biggest joy in our lives. We love you, sweet girl, and can't wait to celebrate our family every year!
