A Special Day!

Oh my gosh! Talk about a long awaited, much anticipated day! We are so grateful for our case worker, Christy, and for all the work she has done to get us one step closer to our dream of having a family. 

Yesterday, on February 3rd our adoption profile went up on itsaboutlove.org. 

This is what we are waiting for because although we were approved months ago, now perspective birthmom's/families can actually see our profile and know that we're out there! It's an amazing, scary, joyful, and humbling feeling.

It's funny because we have been trying to work out a few snags for the past few days and whenever I would get on the site I would see: All families 850.

But yesterday, we were up and it changed to 851 and I have no idea why but that totally struck a cord with me. So grateful to have a number.... to make the list.... to be able to share our story and, eventually, our lives with people we currently do not know. It is a blessing beyond words. It makes you feel big and small all at once... a feeling that's hard to describe but ultimately the sunshine always wins and we are filled with light and joy and happiness to be that much closer.

Some of you might be wondering what now? Do you hang out and wait until someone picks you and agrees to join families?

Uh, heck no!

This is where the real work begins! And we are soooo ready for it! We have ordered 1,000 pass along cards that are a cute little size, perfect for giving out, keeping in a wallet, purse, on a fridge. They have our blog, case worker info(Christy!), email, names, profile, and some of them, our picture. These will be placed on bulletin boards, in libraries, at colleges, pretty much anywhere I can leave one.

But the most important place these will go is with each of 

YOU.

We need your help to spread the word! We'll be giving these out to all of our friends and family in the hopes you will do the same wherever you live- get rid of them! Pass them out, leave them places, let people know you think we're cool lol! Because you never know who will find that card.
Does the birthmom have to be a member of our church?

Nope.

Does the birthmom have to live in Iowa? 

Nope.

Does the birthmom even have to be 100% sure she wants to place?

Nope.
